St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church’s Annual Festival kicks off at 8 a.m. July 19. This Festival is one of the largest sales of pre-owned books, appliances, furniture, electronics, kitchenware, tools, toys, and other treasures in the Stanwood Camano area.

Who benefits from the St. Aidan’s Festival?  The Festival proceeds support not only the ministries of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Caring Connection, and Helping Hands, but also other organizations that provide services to those in need in the Stanwood Camano community. These include the Safe Harbor Free Clinic, the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center and the Stanwood Camano Food Bank.

The Safe Harbor Free Clinic (www.safeharborfreeclinic.org) provides free health care services, such as diagnosis and management of acute care conditions including basic office laboratory testing and referral for more complex problems. The services are provided by volunteer licensed health care professionals.

The Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center (www.stanwoodcamanoresources.org) offers free classes in sewing, music, art, cooking and work skills for youth. Adult classes include English as a Second Language, knitting, budgeting, and parenting. Other services include a directory of information about local, state and federal assistance programs, emergency financial assistance, and dental services for low income adults.

The Stanwood Camano Food Bank (www.stanwoodcamanofoodbank.org) supports more than 1,000 community members in need of groceries and other items. It serves children, seniors, single adults, couples, and families from all backgrounds. Its popular thrift store, the Swan Shop, collects, cleans, and resells items that support low income families and the food bank itself.
